The Scary Truth
There are many great companies that offer Rat and Mouse control programs, but unfortunately, there are companies that try to sell you control services based on fear. Many companies will use your fear as their selling model. They will tell you things like “rats and mice are chewing through your electrical wires or have ruined your insulation and if you don’t get it fixed right now, you are killing yourself and your family. These same companies will then charge you thousands of dollars to deal with a rat or mouse control issue.
While it is true that some rodents can and do carry unwanted diseases, defecate in the attic or other spaces, and may cause some structural damage, there’s really a limit to how much focus should be invested on this side of the problem. The most important thing is to focus on how to take care of this infestation and prevent it from being an issue in the future.
The Tricky Truth
Here’s the tricky truth: Getting rid of rodents might be harder than you think. The absolute first step in proper control is to know exactly what it is you are trying to control. Just like a doctor would never treat bronchitis with foot cream, we would not treat for something like squirrels with a control trap meant for rats. Before a successful control treatment can be performed, you must first inspect the area to determine the type of rodent you’re hunting. If you do not know the difference between rat and mice species, then you will probably have little to no luck. Therefore, we offer free inspections and estimates.
There are few people that are brave enough to try to get rid of mice on their own, and even less that will try getting rid of rats on their own. When they do try their own extermination, they will try all kinds of different over-the-counter rat poisons from the store that they know very little about. They may also try mechanical control such as traps, glue boards, or electronic devices that kill or repel. In an attempt to find the best over-the-counter control solution, they often spend more money and time than it would have costed to hire a professional in the first place.
The Savior Truth

In most cases, the first treatment consists of providing strategic bait placement to eliminate as many rats or mice as possible in the areas of possible infestation. Once the inside is properly baited we will then place tamper proof Rodent Bait Station or “RBS” on the outside of the property in areas that are conducive to rat or mice infestations. Once the initial treatment is complete, we will set up a follow up visit to inspect all monitors, bait, and bait stations. When we return we will clean, date, and rebait all stations as well as reset monitors if needed.
