Fort Worth & Dallas Dangerous Pest Control

Welcome to the Dangerous Pest Services page, below is a chart that has a list of the pests we consider to be the most common as far as the small crawling or flying dangerous pest we treat. Just like the “Specialty Category” the “Dangerous Pest Category” uses pest specific products and applications to target the pest. So what we have done here is we are going to give you some brief information about how we handle dangerous pest control in the Fort Worth and Dallas area, as it is different than the regular service found under the “Element Services Category”.

All of our dangerous pest services below are based on a 2,500 square foot home or less.

Bed Bugs

Types of Bed bug Control

There are 2 types of Bed Bug treatments that we provide, Product Treatments and Heat or Thermal Treatments. Both treatments require an inspection first and a prep list to be completed by the customer before service can be done.

Heat or Thermal Treatment

With heat treatment for Bed Bugs we have special equipment that heats the area being treated up to temperatures that will kill all of the bed bugs and there eggs.  We use fans to circulate the heat for an even treatment throughout the space being treated. With heat the target pest in this case bed bugs must to be exposed to the thermal treatment for a minimum of 20 minutes to eliminate the pest.

Product Treatment

With Product treatments for Bed Bugs, we treat all carpeted areas, furniture, as well as inside the wall voids of the area being treated. Product treatments do not kill the eggs of bed bugs until after hatching. Severe bed bug infestations should have a heat treatment done to make sure the maximum is done to eliminate this pest.

Spot Treatment

Whether it’s a Thermal or Product Bed Bug Treatment the spot treatment is contained to a specific room or rooms, and does not warranty the entire home.

Full Treatment

Whether it’s a Thermal or Product Bed Bug Treatment the full treatment is for the entire property, this is recommended when the infestation is determined to be severe.

Black Widow, Brown Recluse & Scorpions

Controlling Spiders can be a challenge sometime for exterminators because of their biology and natural habits; even more so when we are dealing with dangerous pest control. Let me explain spider control as we see it at Savior.

Biology and Natural Behaviors

Arachnids do not have a jointed foot the way that insects do, nor do they groom themselves like an insect. So that means they can a do walk over treatments without being affected by them.

Treatment for Dangerous Arachnids

Eliminate there food supply, get rid of every pest that they are feeding on, we do this with the following modified treatments: The General treatment, The Perimeter Treatment, The Eave Treatment, and The Yard Treatment.

Once the treatments have been applied:

  1. Some of the spiders will die from the application techniques.
  2. Any spiders left will then feed on insects that have been exposed to the treatments done, and now when the spider feeds on the insect the insect will kill the spider.
  3. Once the insect population is eliminated and there are no available proteins the spider will stop reproducing.
  4. Searching for more protein the spider will cannibalize other spiders which will kill both spiders or re ingest their own webbing which has been treated and this will kill the spider.

Bees, Wasps, and Hornets

When trying to control Bees, Wasps, and Hornets the first thing to consider is the species that you are trying to control. The second the severity to determine whether or not a bee protective suit is required.

Treating for Bees

If the bees have just shown, wait 48 hours, sometimes they will move on and it will not cost you anything. If they do not move on, determine whether they are Africanized or not, it is impossible without a magnifying glass to know if they are Africanized honey bees. A good way is if they are highly aggressive, regular honey bees are not very aggressive, however all bees hate lawn mowers and other loud machines. In some cases we have bee keepers that will come and pick them up if there easy to get to. We prefer to save honey bees whenever we can, they are extremely important to our eco system.

Treating for Wasps

First thing is to do with wasps is identify the type of wasp is it a ground wasp or a umbrella wasp. Because what we do for the service will greatly depend on the species. For instance it may be as simple as treating the eaves and perimeter up to and including power dusting the attic space.

Treating for Hornets

Hornets are treated in much the same way, unless it’s a large nest that must be removed.

Total Fire Ant Control

Fire Ant Biology

Fire ants can be found in almost every type of soil and terrain we have in Texas. They are constantly feral, “angry,” and both bite and sting. Some people are highly allergic to fire ant bites and stings. Fire Ant mounds although they seem to be individual are usually networked with other mounds and areas. Some studies suggest that fire ant mound can be up to 1-2 acres. That means you are not dealing with just your own special little mound but your neighborhood has a fire ant problem.

Fire Ant Control

The first thing we want to do is knockdown as many mounds that we know of when we start this service, the second thing that we do is put out our granular based treatment to kill any emerging mounds, and third we want to put out something that will take care of the yard all year long. This way when the initial product treatment wears off any future mounds built will die as a result of building in that soil.

Various Mosquitoes

Mosquito Biology

First thing and most importantly is that half of the mosquitoes life is spent in water, and they can bread in as little as a table spoon of water. So eliminating as many stagnating water points is very important. Make sure that you clear all French drains, gutters with leaves in them, bird baths, buckets with water etc…

Mosquito Control

We will use an “IGR” insect growth regulator on all standing water if we are not able to dry it out or get rid of it. Mosquitoes like to hang out under leaves and in thick brush type areas, so we treat all bushes and plants from the ground up to insure proper coverage of the area.
