Bed Bug Control
Bed bugs are back!
No one wants to admit it, or how bad this invasive pest is becoming but it’s true and unfortunately that old bed time saying “don’t let the bed bugs bite has its original meaning” once again.
Bed bugs where almost eradicated as a species back in the days of harsh pesticides like DDT and various other organophosphates. These types of products have since been banned and for good reason. Today however the Bed Bugs that survived have become a super strain, scientist have discovered that what used to take let’s say 1% of DDT the surviving bed bugs can survive nearly 250 times that today because of resistance built up over time.
So now it’s back to the drawing board with this pest, but worse they are moving across the country infesting every sort of place that humans live, work, and relax. We have been aware in the industry for the past 5 or more years that this was coming and now it’s here and it’s our job to do something about it.
Most people outside of the pest control industry often think that when a PMP “Pest Management Professional” hears about bugs we get excited, but nothing could be further from the truth.
I personally hate bugs because I have seen what pests, especially these pests can do to disrupt people’s home and family life. Bed bugs are horrible the attack when we are at our most vulnerable and then they hide. Bed bugs are a real challenge because of their high resistance to various treatment methods and their desire to hide in the most hard to reach or find areas.
However there is hope, as I said before “I hate bugs” but what my staff and myself at Savior termite and Pest Control truly love to do is set people and families free from the oppression of bed begs and other pest. We have dedicated our lives and our carriers to this. We all find great satisfaction in this.
In our profession knowledge is power, and we spend a lot of time studying our pest enemy’s to determine the most effective strategies for their eradication. This includes more than products and equipment but experience with the bed bug as a species that we are eliminating.
Product and Heat Treatments for Bed bugs
Pricing: With pricing it really depends of how infested the property is, we require in most cases a free inspection prior to treatment if they are found in more than one room.
Methods of Treatment: There are 2 primary methods that Savior Termite and Pest Control use to control bed bugs the first and most inexpensive is the Traditional Product based Treatment and the second is heat or Thermal Treatment.
Product Based Treatment
Product based treatment for bed bugs are just like they sound, product based. First you should know that we only use green listed products in the services that we provide please see our Green Service page.
We customize every service plan simply because one size definitely does not fit all; all service plans depend on a few factors.
- Do you know how you got bed bugs?
- How much furniture is in each room?
- How long has this problem been going on?
- How many personal belongings are in each room?
- How many rooms are infested and what is the current level of the infestation?
If the problem is sever and we do not think that we should try and control them with traditional product treatments we also can use a heat or thermal treatment. This is always recommended when more than three rooms are suspected of having bed bugs.
